The EHR Achievement Event is an executive-level recognition of accomplishments and excellence in electronic health records implementation. This event honors real-life successes by paying tribute to HIMSS Analytics EMR Adoption Model^SM (EMRAM) Stage 6 and Stage 7 achievers and HIMSS Davies Award winners.

The EMRAM, introduced in 2005, identifies and scores hospitals and ambulatory facilities using an eight-step scale that charts the path to a fully paperless environment. In 2011, only 1.2% of the more than 5,000 US hospitals tracked by HIMSS Analytics had achieved Stage 7.

Since 1994, the HIMSS Nicholas E. Davies Award of Excellence has recognized excellence in the implementation and the value derived from health information technology, specifically EHRs. The Davies Award has honored 71 healthcare organizations in four categories: hospital organizations, ambulatory care practices, and community health and public health entities.

These prominent organizations and their achievements will be honored during two programs at HIMSS13.  On Monday evening, March 4, all HIMSS Davies Award and Stage 7 Award recipients will gather to recognize the 2012 honorees.  Stage 6 recipients will be recognized on Tuesday afternoon, March 5, during a luncheon.
